Questions?

Who makes all this stuff?

Each item sold here is lovingly handcrafted by me (Robyn Paton) in my studio in Ottawa, Ontario.

When I’m not sitting in front of my sewing machine, I can often be found out taking photos, playing with any one of my army of foster kittens, blogging, or trying to figure out how to make something far too complicated in my kitchen.

I’ve got no formal training in textiles, I just know what I like, am totally in love with colour and texture, and won’t ship anything unless I’m completely in love with it.

I’m partial to the colour green, cats that purr, and pomegrantes.

Can I wear a guitar strap as a belt?

You can. Many have, and many more will. At first, I never even thought people would think these were belts, but so many people wrapped them around their waists at crafty shows that I nearly had to change the sign from “Guitar Straps” so it made more sense.

To wear your strap as a belt, find a fancy matching ribbon/pin/clip/string and loop it through the holes in either end. Adjust the strap length, and you’re all set!

What if I get my item in the mail and I hate it?

Don’t worry. It will grow on you.

Just kidding! If you’re not happy with your purchase, get in touch with me and we can either arrange for a replacement to be sent out to you, or for a refund or a credit. Each case is handled on an individual basis, so please get in touch with me before sending anything back.

Do you do custom orders?

Yes. Absolutely! I am happy to make something especially for you, or incorporate a particular fabric/favourite old t-shirt/anything else into an item of your choosing.

Past custom orders have included a giant quilt made from world championship rugby jerseys, custom bags, kid-sized guitar straps, and many others.

Please get in touch with me at robyn@lilybug.ca to discuss options and pricing.

Do you ship internationally?

You bet. I’ll ship to anywhere that you are, as long as you can get mail there.

What are your shipping rates?

My rates vary depending on item weight and how quickly you’d like your package to arrive on your doorstep. For Canadians, shipping is free if you’re located in Ottawa and would like your item to be picked up or dropped off.

Elsewhere in Canada, rates are between $3 (regular mail for a camera strap) and $22 (XpressPost 2-day service).

US-based customers will find that shipping runs between $7 and $28 depending on weight and delivery times.

International customers, wherever you happen to be in the world, can spend between $7.50 and $45 on shipping. All of your various shipping options (faster and slower) are presented upon checkout. Be warned: the cheapest amount is regular parcel mail, and can take anywhere from 4 – 6 weeks to arrive at worst.

Do you do rush shipping? What does your base shipping rate include?

My base rate includes ground shipping to any location inside North America, and basic shipping to most of the rest of the world (except Asia…apparently, shipping to countries in Asia is expensive!).

If you’d like rush service, need your item by a particular date, or just like to track your packages as they travel all over the world, I can easily set that up – for a fee. Add a note to your order, or, send me an email before you place your order and I’ll give you a price.

Will the bicycle seat cover fit my bike? I’ve got a narrow/split/somethingelseentirely seat.

The model for the bike seat covers is based off of my own bike, which has a pseudo-70s springy wide-backed seat, perfect for cruising. If you’ve got a sport bike with a narrow seat, a split seat, or something else entirely, let me know it’s measurements and I can measure against my pattern to ensure
proper fit.
